“Could Be A White Elephant” A proposed house and shop in Spencer Park, Brooklands, could be a white elephant, it was said when the protect was discussed by the Waimairi County Council last evening. Because of this possibility, it was decided that tenders be called for the occupancy lease before proceeding with the building. The question of building a house and canteen at Spencer Park had been discussed by the works and reserves committee. It recommended that the lease be for five years, with right of renewal for a further five years.
