MILK PRICE CUT

Opposition Of Producers (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Aug. 16. The Town Milk Producers’ Federation is preparing new submissions to the Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake) opposing a proposed cut of 0.6 d a gallon in their price. Mr Holyoake asked for the new submissions after a 45minute talk this afternoon with a 15-man deputation. The proposed cut in price will apply for 12 months from September 1. Mr Holyoake asked for the new submissions to be made in the light of prices for “finest” cheese, rather than basic-grade cheese. This was the system that applied up until 12 months ago, the federation secretary (Mr V. S. Lynskey) said tonight. Mr Lynskey said Mr Holyoake had been “attentive and frank” during the meeting Mr Holyoake had promised that he and the Minister of Agriculture (Mr Taiboys) would examine the hew submissions.
