Suppliers To Be Fined (N-Z Press Association) WELLINGTON, August 16. Dairy companies are authorised to fine suppliers a minimum of 6d per lb of butter fat for delivering milk contaminated by antibiotics under a regulation gazetted today. They are also required to test milk at the request of the Department of Agriculture
The penalty was separate from any grade fault penalty which might be applied, a spokesman for the department said.
Today’s notice comes after an amendment last March to the Dairy Produce Regulations which prohibited the delivery of milk or cream containing antibiotics or insecticide to a manufacturing dairy.
