Thailand had sent out feelers to New Zealand for assist usee x|p the estabj .shment of an agricultural engineering sghool in Thailand's barren north-eastern region, the Bangkok "World” reported, according to an Associated Press dispatch from Bangkok. Quoting a source close to the Thai National Econom.c Development Board. the “World" said New Zealand was reportedly willing to contribute between 5.000.000 and 10.000,000 baht to the project < approx. £85.000 equals 5.000.000 baht). Agricul.ure and engineering courses are considered top priority requirements for north-eastern Thailand because of the forthcoming construction of the hydro-electric power plant in the northern region. It is expected to supply power and light and irrigation to the north-east. Construction of the proposed school, the "World" said, would start in 1964
Fossil Find.—A Bloemfontein scientist has found the fossil of an advanced mam-mal-like reptile which lived in the province more than 170 million years ago. It is described as one of the fossil discoveries of the century, the Associated Press reported.—Bloemfontein, August 4
