CAR HITS POLE
Driver Dies Of Injuries Fatal injuries were suffered by an elderly man when his car struck a pole on the north side of Moorhouse avenue, just west of Montreal street, at 525 p.m. on Saturday He was: John Meadows, aged 82. a retired bricklayer, of 14 Balfour terrace Mr Meadows was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital suffering from head and chest injuries and shock. He died at 6 40 p.m.
