MACHINE SEWS ON WOOD

Better Embroidery Possible Home dressmakers are now able to do a larger-sized machine embroidery on any material—from wood and several thicknesses of burlap to the finest of chiffons. The new embroidery features incorporated in the machine are greater width —up to almost half an inch as against five millimetres on standard models —and greater length of up to 10 inches. A range of 20 discs, readily fitted to the machine, enable almost any embroidery stitch to be worked without changing the tension, cotton, needle, or machine foot The increased size of the embroidery gives greater scope. Floral motifs can be simply made by following a sketched line on the fabric, obviating the need for transfers. Animal motifs, from a dragon to a fish, and monograms can be worked in the same way. The embroidery may be applied to household linens, children’s and street clothes, or bridal and cocktail wear. Savings in time and money, and the visual effect of fullsize embroidery, are the most obvious advantages of the new machine.
