Motor Racing AMON UNPLACED IN FIRST RACE
Pulled Up For Car Cheek (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright} SYDNEY. August 5. The 19-year-old New Zealand racing driver. C. Amon, was unplaced in his first race at the Warwick Farm circuit. Sydney, yesterday Amon was dogged by bad luck Driving a Cooper with the Australian Scuderi? Voloce racing team tn the 23 mile event, he returned to the otts after two laps when he smelt petrol fumes in the cockpit. After mechanics had examined the car and found no broken fuel lines Amon reJoi nad the race but finished In the middle of the field The race was won by a Sydney driver, D. McKay, in a Cooper.
