CANADIANA returning to the birdcage without her bridle after winning the Cashmere Plate at Riccarton on Saturday. The filly’s bit broke after a furlong, and for the last six furlongs of the seven furlong event her rider, F. H. Skelton, controlled with the aid only of his whip. Skelton was commended by the club's judicial committee for “ a fine exhibition of horsemanship.”
