Results Of Harrier Runs

With a break in the interclub harrier racing programme on Saturday, clubs were out for training runs, mostly along the roads. Next Saturday. Canterbury senior and junior teams will compete in the New Zealand harrier championships at Taradaie, near Napier.' Runners in Christchurch will compete in a handicap road race from Governor’s Bay to Lyttelton, organised by the Methodist Harrier Club in lieu ot its Bridle Path race, which Is being abandoned this year. On Saturday, August 18, the Marist Harrier Club will conduct a Port Hills relay, a race along part of the Summit road. Anglican Club.—Members of the club competed in an open handicap hill race for the C. W. Packer-Doust trophy. Christchurch Club.—The club held its annual race between married and single men, taking the form of a road race over a course of 7.2 miles, starting from the Halswell Hall. The first four men to finish all broke the course record. The race was also used as a selection trial for the Takahe-Akaroa relay race (to be run on September 8). Results: M.
