WALLABY PLAYER INJURES ANKLE
Team Leaves For N.Z. On Tuesday (NX. Press Assn.—Copyright) SYDNEY. August 5. The Wallaby first five-eighth. A. Town, twisted an ankle playing for his Sydney club. Northern Suburbs, yesterday. Town limped painfully in the closing minutes of the match against Drummoyne. He dismissed the injury lightly after the match, but will have to prove his fitness at a full medical examination of the touring party tomorrow. With the exception of Town, all Sydney members of the Wallaby team went through yesterday’s matches without mishap—to the relief of the Australian tour managers. Messrs J McLean and A. Roper The Wallabies leave for New Zealand on Tuesday. Big Win For Hawke’s Bay (N.Z. Press Association) NAPIER. August 4. Hawke’s Bay scored its biggest representative win in some years by beating East Coast. 38-6. at Napier this afternoon. Hawke's Bay scored six tries and the AU Black trial player. T. Small, added 20 points with his boot. The performance of the East Coast forwards was not impressive. For Hawke's Bay. T. Johnson (2). M Percy. K. Tremain. R. Spencer, and G- Love scored tries. Small converted four tries and kicked four penalty goals For East Coast. W. Ackroyd and Hooper scored tries. Bush Defeat Wairarapa (N.Z. Press Association) MASTERTON. August 5. Bush beat Wairarapa, 17-8. in a return representative Rugby match at Masterton on Saturday. Al half time Bush led 12-8 Scorers for Bush were R. Horton (2) and R. Eames tries. Eames converted his own trv and kicked two penalties. Wairarapa’s points came from a try by A. T. Gyde, a conversion by R. C. H. Blake and a dropped goal by B. T. Mc-i Tamey.
