“Inevitable Changes” (N Z P.A -R.cuter—Copyright) MELBOURNE. August 4 Changes in the pattern of Australia’s export trade last financial year were a preview of “inevitable changes to come” if Britain joined the Common Market, the Melbourne “Herald" political writer. E H Cox. said today Commenting on Australian export trade figures for 1961-62. released this week by the Commonwealth Statistics Bureau. Cox said: "Probably the most remarkable feature of trade developments last year was the rise in our exnorts to Asia of lust on £360 million for the year—or more than onethird of our total exports of £lOBO million.
“This was a jump of almost £7O million, due largely to wheat sales to Communist China, powerfully supported by Japanese buying”
