Lock, overlooked for the M.CC. cricket tour of Australia, will continue to play for Surrey, the "Daily Mail" said today The newspaper said Lock teached his decision on his cricket career with the help of his wife after 48 hours of deliberation. Lock's first reaction on hearng he was not to go to Australia was to quit countycricket and accept one of many offers made to him bv northern league clubs said the "Daily Mail.*’ But he was strongly advised by senior colleagues to 'ignore his disappointment and remember that at 33 he had mans years of top-class cricket ahead, and posaibiy a second "benefit."
