GUILTY OF MURDER

Two British seamen were sentenced to life imprisonment at Winchester, Hampshire, yesterday, after being found guilty of the murder of a shipmate by throwing him overboard into shark-infested sea off the West Indies. Michael William Clarke, aged 25. and Syndham John King, aged 29. both pleaded not guilty to the capital murder of Joseph Golding, aged 6(3. of Southampton, the "Guardian" reported. The jury found both men not guilty of capital murder, but guilty of murder.
