Sprained Toe At Theatre One of the leading dancers in the Bolshoi Ballet, Nina Chistova. tripped while going off stage during /the ballet’s performance in the Theatre Royal last evening, nni sprained a great toe She had to be attended by a docto". Miss Chistova had danced an encore of “Th: Dying Swan.’’ the dance made famous by Pavlova, and on go int. off stage appeared to fall into the wings. She had tripped. News of her injury spread among some of the more enthusiastic ballet lovers, and a number waited at the stage doo. to learn about her condition.
Miss Chistova eventually appeared with a male escort and was driven off in the doctor's car. It is not yet known whether the injury will prevent her dancing for th rest of the Christchurch season.
