City Gallery To Subscribe
The City Council has agreed to join the Contemporary Art Society, Tate Gallery, London.
Apart from a list of private subscribers, headed by the Queen Mother, as patron, 110 art galleries and bodies are members. They include several galleries in Australia and the Auckland, Dunedin and Nelson galleries in New Zealand as well as the National Art Gallery, Wellington.
In the . last 10 years, the. Nelson gallery has been given eight works which are estimated to be worth from £5O to £lOO each.
