INQUIRIES AT TRENTHAM

(N.Z Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 11. After the Lambton Hurdles at Trentham today. J. H. Hely. the rider of Blue Rock, was charged with causing interference to Arawana (B. J. Langford) between the last fence and the finish. After the committee had heard evidence from the stipendiary stewards, Langford, and Hely. and had viewed a film of this part of the race. Hely was severely reprimanded. Fly Home (K. A. Old), nearly lost his rider at a hurdle in the back straight. The bit came out of Fly Home's mouth in the incident, and thereafter Old was unable to ride his horse properly. In the Parliamentary Handicap, Windvale Lad (W. D. Skelton), was handy three furlongs from the finish, but was held up tvhen Coral Reef (A. E. Skinner) weakened. However. Windvale Lad did not respond well to Skelton’s urging* once he was in the clear. Bright Coral (L. K. Tinsley) and Heidi (W. T. Day) were squeezed for room at the entrance to the straight in the Parliamentary Handicap. Both horses were at the rear, and after viewing a film the judicial committee decided to take no action. Down the straight. Bright Coral was kept well out on the track by Beau Kura (K. J. Bull), but other than reminding Bull of his obligations, the committee took no action. Shortly before the straight entrance in the Seatoun Hack Handicap, Pine Ridge (W. D. Skelton) was squeezed for room when Redstan (S. S. Robertson) was stopping. Pine Ridge passed a severe check on to Compagnfe (W. T. Day). Both Compagnie and Pine Ridge were well placed before this incident.
