Antarctic Whale Factory Ships
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) LONDON. July 9. The International Whaling Commission next month will convene a meeting to discuss the setting up of an international inspection system of Antarctic Pelagic factory ships, it was announced in London today. (Pelagic whales are those which feed near the surface of the water.)
A communique by the International Whaling Commission said that this subject was discussed at its annual meeting in London from July 2 to July 6. The Australian and New Zealand Governments were represented at last week’s annual meeting.
