No Action On Lone Voyage
(N.Z. Press Association)
WELLINGTON, July 11
The Government will take no immediate action to halt Trevor Riley, aged 20. in his reported lone-handed bid to sail to Australia in a 32ft yawl. Riley is already miles outside the three-mile limit. Consequently no action can be taken, according to authoritative sources in the Marine, Customs, and Police Departments.
Action is only likely if Riley becomes overdue or sends some sort of distress call.
