DISTILLING BRANDY
Govt Attitude To Industry

WELLINGTON, July 11. The Government would consider proposals for • a brandy industry, said the Minister of Customs (Mr Shelton) in the House of Representatives today. He had been asked by Mr W. W. Freer (Opposition. Mount Albert) whether he would consider allowing the well established wine industry to make brandy. Mr Shelton said the Government was prepared to consider proposals, with detailed costings, to show that good quality brandy could be produced in New Zealand.
