Basketball Tournament
The Canterbury men’s baske.ball team will travel to Dunedin tomorrow to compe.e in the South Island A grade championships. Play will begin on Friday morning. Each team will play four marches—two on Friday, and two on Saturday.
Only the top five teams have entered for the championships. They are Canterbury. Nelson. Dunedin Mercantile. Otago and Southland It is expected that all games w-ill be closely contested, but the Mercantile team from Dunedin must be a firm favourite for the championship.
So far this season, the Can. terbury team has plaved 10 matches for eight wins and two losses. It has scored 623 points, with 409 against it.
