STORAGE OF KEROSENE
Unlicensed Shops In Lyttelton Several grocers' shops in ; Lyttelton and Diamond Har- . bom- which stored kerosene had 1 not been meeting the requirements of the Dangerous i Goods Act, according to the borough foreman's report to the Lyttelton Borough Couni cil ' The report said that these shops had never had a dangerous goods licence, and in fact, had been operating for years without one. The report was adopted. The council received advice from its consulting engineer iMr H. G. Royds) that the cost of Diamond Harbour . sewer extensions at Waipapi avenue, to serve four top sections, would be about £3OO. On the motion of Cr. R. H. Duff it was decided to refer the matter back to the Town Planning Committee. The Mayor (Mr J. B. Col- , lett) was re-elected as the i council's representative on the Canterbury Provincial Patriotic Council. The council nominated Cr. . G. E. Boyd as its representai five on the Metropolitan Welfare Committee of the Patriotic Council.
