Fat Stock Show At Ashburton

Top steers sold at a slight premium on ruling nates for fat cattle when the prizewinning entries from the Ashburton Agricultural and Pastoral Association’s annual fat stock, show were sold yesterday. The top price paid was £5B for the champion steer, two years or under. It was a Black Poll-Hereford cross beast, entered by the estate of A. A. Lowe and bought by the Canterbury Frozen Meat Company. Ltd.

The cattle entered by this estate were a particularly good line, all selling well and gaining enough points for the estate to win the challenge trophy for the exhibitor with most points in the sheep and cattle sections.
