Chain For City Mayoress
A chain for the Mayoress of Christchurch, the gift of the Christchurch branch of the National Council of Women, is not yet ready for presentation. Reporting this at the branch’s monthly meeting, the acting chairman (Miss S. Rolls) reminded members that the total amount needed for the gift had by no means yet been raised. To date the fund stood at £65 18s 6d, only about half the council's affiliated organisations having contributed, said the secretary (Miss S, Lilly).
