UPPER RICCARTON SHOPPING

More Parking Land Sought

An approach will be made to owners of vacant sections in the Upper Riccarton shopping area by the Upper Riccarton Business Association to see if more facilities can be made available for off-street parking. This was decided at a general meeting of the association on Saturday. The meeting decided also that it would approach the National Roads Board and the Transport Department to discuss traffic control at the corner of Yaldhurst road and Hansons lane.

The meeting decided to alter its name from the Upper Riccarton Businessmen’s Association to the Upper Riccarton Business Association and to form the association into an incorporated society. Membership in the association will be open to all businessmen in the district and to any residents who wish to help in the advancement of the district.
