FIREWOOD FOR THE AGED

Work Begun On Saturday

About 10 voluntary helpers began on Saturday stacking the timber from a twostorey house which is being demolished on the corner of Madras and Armagh streets. The timber is being salvaged to be used as firewood by elderly citizens. The organiser of the project (Mr F. J. Helem) said last evening he was expecting many more helpers next Saturday

He said it was hoped to borrow another section which could be used to store the timber before it was delivered. The timber would be cut into lengths before being delivered. B v Sc”"‘ c w<—’d go round to the elderly persons who received the cut timber and split it. Mr Helem said he was going to approach other charitable organisations to assist in the work.
