Mr E. W. Curry Dead

Mr E. W. Curry, who died in Timaru yesterday, aged 62, was a successful farmer and racehorse owner.
Mr Curry, who retired about a year ago, was a fat lamb drafter for the Pareora freezing works before taking over a farm at Kingsdown.
He bred and raced Kingsdown Patch, Kingsdown Direct and Kingsdown Grattan with success. Several substantial offers have been refused for Kingsdown Patch, a five-year-old, which has won seven races. Kingsdown Direct was successful seven times, while Kingsdown Grattan won four races. Kingsdown Patch and Kingsdown Grattan both were from the U Scott mare, Charabanc, which died recently. A member of the committee of the Timaru Trotting Club for the last five years, Mr Curry’ is survived by his wife and three sons.
