It is hereby further notified that an extraordinary vacancy has been created on the Board by the resignation of Mr A. J. Shannon, a Member representing West Ward No. 2. Elections to fill the nine vacancies caused by the abovementioned retirements and resignation will be held on Wednesday. July 18, 1962. and Nominations of Candidates will be received at the Board’s Office, Christchurch, up to 5 pm. on Wednesday, June 27, 1962. Candidates must be nominated in writing, and nomination papers—bearing the signatures of two electors (members of school committees) and the consent of the Candidates—must be received by the Returning Officer before nominations close. Any person or organisation wishing to object to or to support the granting of the application is directed to give notice thereof to the Licensing Authority and to the applicant concerned at least three clear days prior to the date of the hearing. A notice of objection must state in general terms the grounds of objection. If sufficient applications are received at the preliminary hearing to Justify the action the Authority will consider adjourning the hearing to Nelson and/or Christchurch. In this event further notice will be given. (NOTE: Air Service Licence No. 181 authorises scheduled passenger and freight services be*w»»n Christchurch / Nelson/Palmerston North/Auckland and vice versa by Fokker Friendship aircraft operating one service daily on Tuesday. LTD., for amendments to the terms and conditions of Air Service Licence No. 238 as follows: (a) Withdrawal of the present requirement that the Company operate the Nelson/Christchurch sector on Monday. Wednesday and Friday only of each week. (b) Removal of the present scwt limit on the Company's carriage of freight on the Christchurch / Nelson / New Plymouth route. (c) The Company to be able to increase br decrease the frequency of service over any sector! s) of the route Christchurch / Nelson / New Plymouth / Hamilton / Auckland according to traffic demand providing the complete route is serviced at least three times weekly. (d) The Company to be able to operate night services according to seasonal demand but not exceeding two return services in any one week. NOTE: Air Service Licence No. 238 authorises the operation of DC-3 aircraft on scheduled passenger and freight services and also charter and ancillary services on specified routes and areas in both the North and South Islands.
