judge Dismisses Appeal (A 2 Press A ssociation) AUCKLAND. June 8 An appeal by Edward WilHam Tell, aged 24. a workman. against a sentence of 12 months’ gao] for escaping from Auckland Prison on April 1 was dismissed by Mr Justice Woodhouse. His Honour said that the escape, with Angelo La Mattina. who is serving a life sentence for murder, had disrupted the community and caused public alarm The de. terrent aspect of a sentence for an offence such as this was important.
