AFTER 75 YEARS
Library Asks For Reports
NEW PLYMOUTH, June 7. The New Plymouth Chamber of Commerce is about 75 years behind Ln its obligations to the General Assembly Library, according to information received at the monthly meeting of the chamber tonight. The secretary (Mr G. V Duff) said a letter had been received from the Chief Librarian (Mr J. O. Wilson) which read: — “We find from the check of the files of your annual report and/or balance sheet thait the following copies are missing:— "We have none. . . . “I should be grateful therefore, if you would send the library a copy of each of the missing reports and see that arrangements are made to forward us two copies of future issues as
published.” “That goes back to 1887,'' said Mr Duff. "The act was passed in 1913 and they have just caught up on us.” One member commented that it could be blamed on “the great fire.”
