June 5 Some referees have criticised •the action taken by the World Cup organising committer against three players Involved in the match between Chile and Italy on Saturday. The committee suspended G Ferrini (Italy) for one match and severely cautioned M David (Italy) and L. Sanchez (Chile) The two Italians were sent oft by an English referee. Mr K Aston One leading referee said that letting a player off with a caution after he had been rent off was undermining the authority of the referees. The committee also warned trainers, coaches, officials and players that measures Would be taken if there were further breaches of rules. This has been taken to mean that if officials are unable to see that a team behaves properly the nation could be expelled from the current tournament or future World Cup championships.
