SPRINGS COUNTY COUNCIL ESTIMATES, 1962-63 IN THE MATTER of “The Counties Act, 1956," "The Rating Act, 1925," and Amendments thereto. PUBLIC NOTICE Is hereby given that the following estimate approved by the Springs County Council, pursuant to Section 106 (2) of "The Counties Act, 1956,” for the period commencing on the first day of April. 1962, and ending on the thirty-first day of March, 1963. 1. The proposed expenditure of the said County is:— £ a. Administration, including salaries, office and legal expenses, audit, valuation, insurance, printing, etc. .. 3,340 b. Works on roads, bridges, drains, and rivers .. .. 28,100 c. Plant maintenance 7,000 d. General expenses, museum, transport, noxious weeds, hydatids control, etc " £ .. 2. The amounts available for the above purposes are:— £ a. Credit Balance .. 9,190 b. Government subsidies and grants .. 10,200 c. Hire of plant, etc. 1,220 d. The total rateable value of property in the Valuation Rolls for the Springs County is £3,720,580, and the General Rate necessary to produce the required amount is one penny (Id) in the pound, plus a drainage rate of an average of l/5d in the pound. 5. PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that the Springs County Council at a meeting to be held on June 18, 1962, proposes to make and levy the following rates: 1. A General Rate of one penny (Id) in the pound on the total rateable value of the County, such rate to include a Special Rate of one-thirty-sixth pence in the pound on the rateable value of the County for the purpose of repayment of interest and principal of the Housing Loan No. 2, of £6000; also to include a Special Rate of one-twenty-second of a penny in the pound on the rateable value of the County for the purpose of repayment of interest and principal fo the Machinery Loan, No. 1. H. Also those rates set out in the Drainage Classification of the County. ill. AH rates as directed by Special Order of the North Canterbury Catchment Board.
