MEMORIAL IN JAPAN
Contribution By N.Z. 1H.2 Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 5 New Zealand will contribute towards the cost of a memorial in the Commonwealth Cemetery, Hodogaya. Japan, the. Minister of Internal Affairs (Mr Gotz) announced today. Fight New Zealanders are buried in the cemetery’s post-war plot. The memorial will probably be a stone or concrete cross. It has yet to be designed by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. Mr Gotz jaid it would commemorate Common wealth servicemen and their dependants who died during the occupation of Japan. The post-war plot was the only one in the cemetery without a collective memorial.
