Awol and Blue Gum, both Grand National Hurdle and Steeple hopes, will have their first Melbourne starts over jumps at Caulfield on Saturday. Awol, now trained here by N. D. Hoysted, will run jn the M.R.C. Hurdle and will be ridden by T. Jones. Blue Gum, which is trained in Adelaide by C. Hayes, will atari fa the M.R.C. Steeple, and will be ridden by the South Australian jockey, D. Anderson.

Blue Gum is leaving Adelaide today. On his way across he may run in the Mount Gambier Cup on Tburaday.
