FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT . Situation.—A trough of low pressure is advancing on to New Zealand from the Tasman Sea. Forecast:— Canterbury.—Light to moderate variable winds, partly cloudy, widespread fog this morning in coastal areas; scattered rain in the western ranges; temperatures rather cool. Outlook: mainly fine. West Coast.—Moderate variable winds; cloudy and showery with isolated thunderstorms; moderate temperatures. Outlook; showery.
