MINISTER INSPECTS ROAD TUNNEL.—The Minister of Works (Mr Goosman) yesterday inspected the Christchurch-Lyttelton road tunnel. In this photographs the project manager for the contractors (Mr J. G. Smith) is showing the Minister and members of the Road Tunnel Authority the concreting near the entrance. Others in the picture are, from left, Mr R. A. Witbrock (chairman of the authority), Mr L. H. Wilson (the recently-appointed general-manager), Mr L. G. Amos (a member of the authority), and the Minister.
