Avonside Girl To Study In U.S.
Margaret Melville, a sixthform pupil at the Avonside Girls’ High School, has been awarded an International Christian Youth Exchange scholarship for a year’s study in the United States. She would leave in August, Miss M. P. Stevenson, the principal, told the school's board of governors. The scholarship was similar to the American Field Service scholarships, said Miss Stevenson. Miss Melville would stay with an American family and would be required to return to Avonside to complete her studies next year.
