MISSIONARY KILLED
Shot By Thai Robbers (N2. Pr*«s Association) AUCKLAND, May 22. A New Zealand missionary, Graham Roy Orpin, died in Northern Thailand on Saturday night from wounds received when he was shot on Thursday by robbers. It is thought that Mr Orpin, who had been working among the Meo hill tribe, was attacked on his way to Manorom, where his wife is in hosfHtal awaiting the birth of their first child.
Mr Orpin, who was 38, was the son of Mr and Mrs G. C. H. Orpin, of 18 Golf avenne. Otahuhu. He entered the New Zealand Bible Training Institute in 1957 and studied language at the mission’s orientation centre in before being ported to Nam Khet. in Northern Thailand, iix 1959.
