CANTERBURY TEAM
Centre-Forwards Bracketed The choice of centreforward in the Canterbury soccer team to play Wellington on June 4 will lie between two players, G. Verwoerd and D. Waugh. The two players were bracketed for the position by the selector (Mr V. Smith) when the team came before the management committee of the Canterbury Football Association last night for approval. Canterbury will contest this English Park match —the first leg of the Gordon Cup —without P. Frost, who will be in Wellington as a member of the New Zealand team on the same day.
The team is:— D. Smith (Western); P. Flynn (Shamrock), A. Ross (University), vice-captain; B. Chee (Technical Old Boys), K. Clark (Western), H. Taylor (Shamrock); A. Bishop (Western), T. Haydon (Western),- G. Verwoerd (Neerlandia-United) or D. Waugh (Technical Old Boys), P. Rennell (Nomads), captain; W. Logan (Technical Old Boys). Reserves. K. Flintham (Technical Old Boys),' D.
