POSER FOR HOSPITAL
Trouble With Glass Doors
The glass doors at the front entrance to the Princess Mar. garet Hospital are still causing trouble through persons banging into them unawares and the North Canterbury Hospital Board is to consider ways of making them more easily visible, the secretary of the board (Mr J G Laurenson) said yesterday About 18 months ago. he recalled, someone walked through one of the glass panels flanking the doors, while many other persons used to collide with the panels. The board therefore drew attention to the glass by standing pot plants along the foot of the panels. This had proved effective in preserving the panels, but the doors themselves were still giving trouble. especially when one was open and the other shut and in certain lighting conditions. Even staff were caught at times The doors had not been smashed, as they were of heavier glass than the panels The board at its meeting tomorrow would consider both short-term and longterm ways of solving the problem. Luminous tape might be satisfactory m the short term, but a long-term solution would probably have to be more aesthetically pleasing
