Children Take Poison
Two children were admitted to the Christchurch Hospital last week after having swallowed toxic substances. Both were discharged on the day after admission.
A boy of three ate camphor, and a girl of two and a half drank a cough mixture containing a potentially dangerous substance. The girl’s four-year-old sister, who also penetrated to -the family medicine-chest, took a bottle of penicillin and was given a stomach-wash in the casualty department but was not admitted.
