Fisher’s report on admissions and discharges for the month was as follows: admissions. 9 mothers. 29 babies: discharges, 14 mothers. 32 babies: number of twins admitted. 4 sets: prematu-e babies admitted 10: discharged. 8 During April, Karitane nurses were provided for 35 homes and three nothers were helped by visiting Australian mothercraft nurses, whose credentials have been accepted by the director of Plunket nursing services ■(Miss J Mackay), said a report from the Karitane Bureau Karitane nurses have taken charge of several homes under emergency conditions while mothers were in hospital “Several fathers have expressed appreciation of the way in which the nurses have fulfilled not only their Karitane duties, but had cheerfully undertaken the responsibility of the home in the absence of the mother,” the report said.
