TROTTING Bonnieburn Surprises In Washdyke First Leg

Bonnieburn, a winner on the course in January, caused a major surprise when he beat the firm favourite, Adioway, in the President’s Handicap at Washdyke on Saturday. The President’s Handicap was the first leg of the T.A.B. double at the Timaru Trotting Club’s winter meeting Bonnieburn improved wide out after passing the seven furlongs and he took the lead a furlong and a half later. From then on he was not pressed and he won by a length from Adioway, with Stormlight and Parados next.

1 Stormlight finished gamely j for third a length and a half f behind Adioway. with a similar distance to Parados Storm 5 Water, which was well back for the first mile, did well to 5 finish fifth, ahead of Throw--5 away, Robyn.
