New Oil Search In Queensland
(NX.P.A.-Rtuter—Copyright) NEW YORK. May 18 American Overseas Petroleum, Ltd (Amo seas), today announced that it would soon start to explore about 20m acres in the Great Artesian Basin of Queensland. Magellan Petroleum holds the land under permit, an announcement said. Amoseas will be acting as operator for the California Asiatic Oil Company, a subsidiary of the Standard Oil Company of California, and for Texaco Overseas Petroleum Company, a subsidiary of Texaco, which companies have contracted jointly with Magellan.
