2 Teams Still In Lead Beckenham I and Avonside held their lead in the Canterbury Lawn Tennis Association’s winter competition at Wilding Park on Saturday. They are the only two unbeaten teams. Avonside beat Spreydon by 5 matches to 1 and Beckenham I beat Barrington I by 4 matches to 2. Results:— Avonside v. Spreydon Mixed Doubles.—W. Jamieson and Mrs L. Rixon beat P. Terry and Mrs M. Curgenven., 6-1 6-4; J. Edgar and Miss S. Peters beat M. Courtney and Miss P. Gleeson. 6-1. 6-2. Men’s Singles—Jamieson beat Terry, 6-1. 0-1; Edgar beat Courtney. 6-0. 6-2. Women’s Singles.—Miss Peters beat Miss Gleeson. 6-2, 8-0: Mrs Rixon lost to Mrs Curgenven. 3-6. 2-6. Avonside won by 5 matches to 1. Barrington I v. Beckenham I Mixed Doubles.—R.
