The company said it understood the land was unsuitable for housing. It had been informed that the foundations were not stable, and because of this building sections would not qualify for State Advances Corporation loans As the site was close to commercial zones, it would be contrary to good town planning practice to rezone the land commercial. the town planning committee said.
