Correspondence In Esperanto
Letters in Esperanto from New’ Zealand children were among letters from all parts of the world received by children in French schools which taught the international language, according to a report received by the Christchurch Esperanto Society. The report said that at least 400 more teachers would be able to teach Esperanto in first-grade schools each year now that 19 teachers' colleges had introduced Esperanto as a compulsory subject. Instruction had previously been limited to two training colleges. The French Minister of National Education had accepted the patronship of an Esperanto culture week to be held in Gresillon. said the report. Members of the society paid tribute to the late Mr Lincoln Efford. who was associated with it for nearly 40 years. Mr Efford was secretary for 30 years and later president.
