The application of Kepler's laws to the problem of satelihile-orbits and the requirements for achieving the necessary velocities was the subject of an address given to the Canterbury Astronomical Society by Mr K. W. Roth. Mr Roth illustrated his lecture with worked examples. General improvements are being carried out on the society's telescope and should be completed by October, the vice - president (Mr F. Andrews' tbld members. They were also told that the satellite Echo would be seen about sunset within the next few days.
