(NX. Pratt Attociatim) UMARU. May 16 J. Dowie, of Christchurch, won the New Zealand draugh's championship at Tlmaru thia evening.. There was a tense finish as two former champions. Dowie and W. O'Malley. also of Christchurch, were lied on 21 points, with two games to play Dowie won both his rounds but CMaliev was held to a draw bv G. Hadlee, of Tlmaru. in hla final match. Dowie thus won with 2(1 points to O'Malley's a R Noonan of Wallington, finished third with 22) points
