GIRL RAPED IN PARK
Three Youths For Sentence
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, May 16. Two youths were found guilty by a jury in the Supreme Court at Auckland late tonight of raping a 17-year-old nurse-aid at Cornwall Park on or about February 1. A third youth was acquitted on each of the three alternative charges of rape, attempted rape and indecent assault.
Those fotjnd guilty of rape were William Barry Henry, aged 19, an apprentice fitter and turner (Mr M. Robinson). and William John Taylor, aged 19, an apprentice butcher (Mr R P. Smellie)
Another youth, lan Richard Henry, aged 17. an apprentice motor mechanic •Mr Robinson) was found guilty of attempted rape of the nurse-aid
The youth acquitted was Richard Stuart Browne, aged 18. a cutter (Mr D. S Beattie, with him Mr P L Martelli).
Browne was discharged by Mr Justice Boys. The other youths were remanded for sentence.
