Convocation Of Deaconesses
The Methodist deaconesses’ convocation which has been held in Christchurch ince Monday evening ended yesterday morning. Twentythree deaconesses. mosty from the North Island, have been meeting in the Methodist Deaconess House They have been addressed by Methodist ministers and have conducted business meetings. Many of the deaconesses work in Maori mission fields, and in church hostels.
It is the first time the deaconesses have held a convocation in the South Island , r s '. x years. The last was axso held tn Christchurch.
